Well the office prophets got a little taste of some "shut the @#$% up" as yours truly cashed in the office Masters Pool finishing in a three way tie for first but ending up with second place cash ($70 on $5 investment) based on tie-breakers out of 57 entries. The team made up of Woods, Cink (thanks Stewie [see inset] for that putt on 16 = ca-ching), Harrington, Goosen and Ogilvey shot a combined six under par to vault me into second. By avoiding my usual suspects, Messrs. Mickelson and Garcia, the change in strategy has resulted in a reversal of fortune for the self-proclaimed "Loser of Office Pools." Who knew that golf would salvage the weekend, after Saturday's handicapping disaster.
With tax day approaching tomorrow, all is right in EquiSpaceland.
Tomorrow, I will start my first horse racing book review, on the book Wild Ride: The Rise and Fall of Calument Farm Inc., America's Premier Racing Dynasty by Ann Hagedorn Auerbach.
