The Pirate Horse

Tweet So one of my favorite jokes of all time (coming your way via the Saratoga Resident) goes like this: Why couldn't the pirate get into the movie? Answer: Because it was Arrrrr-rated! Yep, pretty bad, but funny nonetheless. What does this have to do with horse racing you ask? Well, tomorrow one of the horses who is the butt of this joke goes 7 furlongs in the 5th at Belmont Park in a Maiden Special Weight for $46K. Yep, it's Arrrrr, that 4yo chestnut grey colt out of Regal Classic (dam: Lemons ain't Limes - great name by the way). Ever since the Saratoga Resident told me that joke I email him every time our guy Arrrrr is running. He's got Javier Castellano in the irons and drops in class from a $56K maiden race where he came in 4th. The morning line on our pirate horse is 15-1, maybe I should throw a little coin at him since he's made it to the blogosphere. He has some decent competition however as Barclay Tagg and Sackatoga Stable (that's right, the Funny Cide guys) have entered Can't Buy Me Love (6-1) and Johnny V is on Iron Gate (the morning line chalk at 3-1). Here's hoping our guy breaks his maiden in attempt #11 and waves the black flag (not the white one)!
